“The Rub” Marinated Shishka-Bomb Recipe

“The Rub” A Marinated Shishka-Bomb Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs Hoagland Meat Steak Bites (or 2 lbs of your favorite Hoagland Meat steak, top sirloin is a popular choice for kabobs)
  • 1/4 to 1/2 bottle of Idaho Prep Co.’s seasoning, "The Rub"
  • 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar (We used local Fairchild's Vinegar)
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seed oil
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Optional Kabob Additions:

  • Bell peppers
  • Onions
  • Mushrooms
  • Potatoes (pre-cooked for better doneness)
  • Pineapple chunks

Optional Toppings:

  • Chimichurri sauce
  • Teriyaki sauce
  • Sesame seeds

Directions

SERVES APPX 6-8
Prep Time: 20 minutes + time to marinate  Cook Time: 20 minutes  Total Time: 40 minutes
  • Marinate:
    • In a large bowl, combine 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce, 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar, 2 tablespoons sesame seed oil, 1/4 cup olive oil, and Idaho Prep Co.’s "The Rub." Adjust the amount of seasoning to taste, using between 1/4 to 1/2 bottle.
    • Add Hoagland Meat Steak Bites to the marinade. Mix thoroughly to ensure the meat is evenly coated.
    • Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 2 hours. For more tender and flavorful steak, marinate overnight.
  • Prepare the Grill:
    • Preheat your grill to 400°F.
  • Assemble the Skewers:
    • Thread the marinated steak bites onto skewers. You can also add pineapple, peppers, onions, mushrooms, or pre-cooked potatoes for variety and extra flavor depending on what you and your family loves!
    • If using potatoes, ensure they are cooked until tender before skewering, as they require a longer cooking time.
  • Grill the Skewers:
    • Place the skewers on the preheated grill.
    • Grill for 5-10 minutes on each side, flipping once, until the steak reaches your desired level of doneness.
  • Serve:
    • Once grilled, remove the skewers from the heat.
    • Optional: top with chimichurri sauce, teriyaki sauce, or a sprinkle of sesame seeds for added flavor.
    • Serve hot and enjoy!
