At Hoagland Meat, we believe good food doesn’t just feed your body—it brings people together. That’s why every month, we spotlight a local Treasure Valley restaurant that proudly features Hoagland meat on their menu. This is another installment of our “Hoagland on the Menu” series—a series to highlight and celebrate our amazing wholesale customers and help you discover where you can taste the difference of locally raised, high-quality beef.
We know not everyone wants to cook every night (even when your freezer is full of Hoagland beef 😉), so whether it’s date night, an anniversary, or just a well-earned night out, we want you to feel good knowing where your meat is coming from—even when you're not the one behind the grill.
Land Ocean New American Grill – Meridian, ID
If you're looking for an elevated dining experience, Land Ocean should be at the top of your list. With its modern steakhouse vibe, chic interiors, and exceptional service, this Meridian hotspot is ideal for everything from business dinners to special occasions.
We recently enjoyed dinner at Land Ocean, and the experience was top-notch from start to finish. The garlic bread appetizer was packed with flavor and the kind of cheesy, garlicky goodness you don't forget. We also tried a few non-alcoholic drinks: a pina colada, a virgin mojito, and a sparkling prosecco. The bartenders were happy to create custom drinks, adding a personal touch to the night.
The Star of the Show: Hoagland Tenderloin
Of course, the real reason we visited was to experience our Hoagland tenderloin in action. Land Ocean’s filet mignon was cooked to perfection, with a tender, melt-in-your-mouth texture that highlights the quality of the beef.
Here are some of the delicious tenderloin dishes you can find at Land Ocean:
-
Filet Mignon: An 8oz cut served with a twice-baked potato skillet, sautéed mushrooms, and grilled asparagus.
-
The Land Ocean: A 6oz filet mignon paired with a 6oz lobster tail, served with a twice-baked potato skillet and grilled asparagus.
-
Filet Mignon Pasta: Tenderloin pieces with cremini mushrooms, spinach, red onions, bell peppers, fresh pasta, and a brandy peppercorn sauce.
-
Filet Mignon Stir-Fry: Sliced tenderloin sautéed with bell peppers, mushrooms, onions, broccolini, carrots, and snow peas over cilantro rice, topped with crispy wonton strips.
-
Tenderloin Wellingtons (Starter): Miniature beef tenderloin wrapped in pastry, served with brandy peppercorn sauce and béarnaise.
-
Filet Mignon Benedict (Brunch): Poached eggs atop tenderloin medallions, drizzled with béarnaise sauce, served with country potatoes.
- Land Ocean Benedict (Brunch): One filet mignon benedict and one crab cake benedict, each topped with poached eggs and served with country potatoes.
A Sweet Finish
We couldn’t resist dessert, so we shared the lava cake and apple pie. The lava cake was decadently rich, while the apple pie was warm, comforting, and perfect to round out the meal.
